Day 1
- Arrival in Kyiv.
- Transfer to your hotel located in the center of the city.
Legend says the picturesque town of Kyiv was established in the late 5th century, but the exact facts are obscure even to the modern historians. The oldest city in Eastern Europe and one of the most fundamental in the development of Slavic civilization, Kyiv did not reach prominence until around the 11th century with the reign of Prince Vladimir and the subsequent rule of his son, Yaroslav the Wise.
Overnight: Hotel in Kyiv.
Day 2
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Panoramic city tour: National University; St. Vladimir’s Cathedral; National Opera House; Golden Gate; entrance to St. Sophia Cathedral, the heritage of UNESCO; St. Michael’s Cathedral; Vladimir’s Hill; Old Town; Independence Square; Khreschatyk Street; Office of the President of Ukraine’s Administration, Verhovna Rada Palace (Ukrainian Parliament).
- Gala Dinner “Welcome to Ukraine” at a local restaurant with traditional Ukrainian Musicians’ performance (for groups over 10 PAX).
Overnight: Hotel in Kyiv.
Day 3
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Walking tour to St. Andrew’s church and Andriyivskyi descent. Visiting the historical part of the city - Podol district.
- Lunch in the Ukrainian folk restaurant.
- Visit to the famous Kyiv-Pecherskaya Lavra Monastery with its underground catacombs.
The Lavra grounds feature several monuments and museums. Today you will explore one of our favorites - the Museum of Historical Valuables. Its collection of Scythian gold is unrivalled in the world. This museum features a stunning collection of jewels and other precious treasures and is well worth the time to visit.
- Transfer to the airport. Evening flight to Chernivtsy.
- Arrival in Chernivtsy. Transfer to the hotel.
Overnight: hotel in Chernivtsy.
Day 4
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Full day tour of Chernivtsy, centre of Bukovyna region. Sightseeing tour of its ancient city – “small Vienna”, including ensemble of Theatre Square, historical and architectural monuments of the past:
- former residence of Bukovynian and Dalmatian Metropolitans;
- former Armenian church (19 c.) – nowadays Pipe-Organ Music House.
Visit to the following museums:
- the first in Ukraine “Museum of Diaspora”, which acquaints with history of emigration from Bukovyna, destiny of Bukovynian emigrants and that of their descendants;
- museum of local lore including unique collection of Easter eggs (pysanky) and that of national costumes.
- Dinner.
- Rest of the day at leisure.
Overnight: hotel in Chernivtsy.
Day 5
- Breakfast in the hotel.
- Early morning transfer to the airport to catch the flight to Kyiv and homeward (or continue your journey).
